Today i turned 35. So alot of smses that came through (from students) asked me when will i get married before i turn into an old auntie… this bunch of jokers. For the whole of my birthday week, I’ve got lil lil treats here and there from colleagues, and i must have appeared stressed (which i am), they gave me a lot of de-stressed stuff such as aromatherapy candles, body lotion, mask, stress ball and the ultimate… tao sa pia from Cherry. My buddy actually was born 1 day before me… sweet! We were gathered at the staff lounge and it was quite an akward situation where they sang us a birthday song, then sat around and tell jokes… of course, i’m bad at such situations. They would laugh, then followed by silence… someone would try to carry on the joke, we would laugh and then… *silence. This carried on for a while.

Went Wine Bar on Friday and got to know someone who mixes their drinks (wine + beer) so to get high faster and cheaper… mmm… Being the bdae gal has its previledges (even at this age), the beer was paid for and i also received Royce chocolates

Saturday was spent playing tennis, then off to town to meet my ex-students. Had dinner at Tonkichi where the waitress served the wrong orders… haha… and received something blue (pantone 1837)

Sunday, the service was good- Bring blessings. Then off to my mom’s where she gave 2 ang pows and said sorry she has to go for dinner, so i had to have my bdae dinner by myself. So bought myself sliced fish mee-sua (for longevity) … *nope, not dwelling in self-pity please.

A few of my favourite things

Had a gathering a few weeks back at Mike’s place and wow, the food was good … but of course i fell asleep at the supposedly Movie nite right after the movie started playing.

Felia also cooked soup… and other favourite things: the Malay kueh kueh, Royce (*hint hint again), tau sar pia and doughnuts.

Also managed to catch up with Ching and some of the peeps i haven’t seen in ages… Lovely solemnization.

Season 2

And what’s playing on my com (at work) these days? HEROES (is back), and The Office. There’s not much time for me to watch but i’ll catch glimpse of it on and off…

hapi thots? not really coz quite a lot of work, and hardly have time to breathe. A little heavy hearted today… i didn’t know it’s so difficult to just say the 3 words.

On a lighter note, it’s Xiaolan’s bdae today. Wanted to bring her to have “enhancements” done as a birthday gift but simply no time; need to bring her for her overdue check up soon. Some asked me why i personify a car, it must have started with me naming my cool phone then… since then everything has a name! Currently, there’s xiaolan, hottie (for my red, self-hanging, and gets heated up pretty fast phone) and xiaopang (for the many folds on my stomach).

i guess it kinda makes me take better care of the things i own if i personify them. i can feeeel her “pain” if xiaolan gets bumped nor when my phone drops on the floor. And for the lack of creativity, i usually name it after its colour.
